Why Is My Pinterest Downloader Not Working?
By PinMediaDownloader editorial team · Updated 2026-11-02 · 5 min read
There are two different failures: analysis cannot find a public file, or a file was found but saving it fails. Identify which stage failed before retrying. Repeated requests cannot unlock a private Pin.
Jump straight to the tool: Choose the correct Pinterest tool
Start with the link
Open the Pin itself before copying. A Pin address contains /pin/; a board address has a username and board name. Search, profile and home-feed addresses are not supported. A pin.it share link is accepted, but its destination still needs to be public.
Match the file to the tool
- Use Video for public MP4 files, Image for still images and GIF only for an actual GIF.
- Use Carousel for several items inside one Pin; use Board for a public board.
- If the public page publishes no supported file, switch tools only when the Pin's actual media type calls for it.
If analysis fails
Check whether the Pin can be viewed publicly, without entering credentials. Deleted, private and restricted content cannot be processed. An upstream change or temporary error can also stop extraction; try again later rather than repeatedly submitting the same URL. A rate-limit message means you should wait before another attempt.
If saving fails
- 1
Check connection strength and available device storage.
- 2
Check your browser's Downloads list for a failed or paused item.
- 3
For a board, allow multiple downloads only if you requested several files.
- 4
Analyze again for a fresh media URL and save a single item first.
Report a reproducible issue
Record the tool, browser, device, approximate time and exact error message. Share only a public Pin URL you are comfortable disclosing. Never send Pinterest passwords, session cookies or private-board access.
