How to Download Pinterest Videos
Updated 2026-08-14 · 4 min read
Pinterest shows video Pins inline but gives no save button. If the Pin is public, the underlying MP4 is already being served to your browser — the job is simply to find it and save it with a usable filename.
Jump straight to the tool: Pinterest Video Downloader
Copy the right URL
On desktop, open the Pin so the address bar shows a link that starts with pinterest.com/pin/ followed by a long number. In the mobile app, tap the share icon and choose Copy link; that produces a pin.it short link, which resolves to the same public Pin.
Links copied from a search results page or from a board grid sometimes point to the board rather than the Pin. Always open the Pin first.
Analyze and download
- 1
Open the Pinterest Video Downloader.
- 2
Paste the Pin URL into the input field.
- 3
Click Analyze and wait for the check to complete.
- 4
Play the preview to confirm it is the right video.
- 5
Click Download Video and choose where to save the file.
Check what the result actually says
A good result panel is specific: media type, format, and — when Pinterest publishes them — resolution and file size. If a field is missing, it means that information was not returned, not that the download will fail.
The download itself is streamed through the site's own endpoint, so the file arrives named after the Pin instead of an unreadable CDN string.
When a Pin can't be processed
- The Pin belongs to a secret board or a private profile.
- The Pin was deleted or the account was deactivated.
- The link points to a board, a profile or a search page instead of a Pin.
- The Pin is an image, not a video — use the image downloader instead.
