Which URLs are supported
- Standard Pin links: pinterest.com/pin/<id>
- Country domains such as pinterest.co.uk, pinterest.fr and pinterest.de
- Short links copied from the mobile app: pin.it/<code>
- Public board URLs, handled by the board tool rather than the video tool
Quality and format
Pinterest serves video Pins as MP4. When several renditions are published, the highest one available is selected; the result panel shows resolution and file size only when Pinterest actually reports them. No upscaling happens, and no fake quality options are offered.
Why a Pin sometimes cannot be processed
- The Pin is private, from a secret board, or has been deleted.
- The link points to a board, a profile or a search page instead of a Pin.
- The Pin is an image or GIF, in which case the image or GIF tool applies.
- Pinterest temporarily withheld the media from the public page.
Mobile versus desktop
The workflow is identical. On iOS, Safari saves to the Files app and you can move the clip into Photos afterwards. On Android, files land in Downloads and appear in the gallery once scanned. On desktop, the browser download folder is used.
What this tool will not do
- Sign in, or ask for Pinterest credentials.
- Access private boards or restricted accounts.
- Strip watermarks or alter the file in any way.
- Promise ZIP archives or resolutions that the source does not provide.
